We collect the information you give us when you request a booking, communicate with us, or pay for a stay, including:

- Booking details (property, dates, number of guests, reason for visit, special requests).
- Payment information (processed and stored by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers).
- Communications you send us (messages, support requests, review submissions).
- Basic technical data (IP address, browser, device, pages visited) used to operate and secure the site.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Process and manage your booking request, approval, and payment.
- Send transactional emails such as booking confirmations, payment links, rental agreement, and check‑in details.
- Send SMS and MMS messages related to your booking and account (see Section 3).
- Respond to inquiries and provide customer support.
- Comply with legal obligations, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms and Conditions.
3. SMS and Mobile Number Privacy
Searko Retreats may send you SMS messages related to your booking or inquiry (for example, confirmation, check-in details, and important stay updates).
- We do not share your mobile number with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
- Message frequency varies by booking stage. For most reservations, you will receive approximately 3–10 SMS messages.
- Message and data rates may apply. Check your mobile carrier plan for details.
- You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any SMS message. You may also contact us to update or remove your phone number.
- HELP is available by replying HELP to any SMS message or by contacting Searko Retreats directly.
This SMS service is operated by Searko Retreats only and is not used for third-party marketing.
4. How we share information
We share information only with service providers that help us operate the business, including:
- Twilio — to deliver SMS, MMS, and related notifications.
- Stripe — to process payments securely.
- Email and hosting providers — to send transactional email and host the website.
- Smart‑lock and property‑operations providers — to manage access codes for your stay.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of guests, hosts, or the public.
5. Data retention & security
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, but no system is 100% secure.
6. Your choices
- Reply STOP to opt out of SMS/MMS.
- Use the unsubscribe link in our marketing emails (transactional emails will continue when needed for your booking).
- Contact us at staff@searkoretreats.com to request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data, subject to legal limits.
7. Children
Our services are intended for adults 21 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the effective date above and, when appropriate, notify you by email or SMS.
